China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as "China Baowu" or "Baowu") is a key state-owned enterprise directly managed by the central government. It is the world's largest and most influential integrated steel enterprise, headquartered in Shanghai. In 2020, China Baowu was included by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) in the list of central enterprises striving to become world-class demonstration enterprises. In 2022, it became a state-owned capital investment company and launched the construction of a "chain leader" for a new low-carbon metallurgical modern industrial chain. In November 2024, it was recognized by SASAC and the China Enterprise Confederation as one of the 10 central enterprises to "enter the ranks of world-class enterprises."
